Lyndsey and Michelle spotted a gap in the market. Across Yorkshire, people wanting routine blood tests for general wellbeing faced the same frustrating journey: book a GP appointment, wait weeks to be seen, get referred for a narrow set of tests focused on a single concern, then wait again for results. The NHS pathway is designed for diagnosis, not for the kind of broad, proactive health screening that gives people genuine peace of mind.

Yorkshire Bloodworks was created to offer something different. As a brand new business, the concept was simple but powerful: accessible blood testing with comprehensive panels that screen across a wide range of markers, not just the narrow tests a GP might order for a specific symptom. Clients could see exactly what was happening with their health, flag anything that needed further investigation, and take clear, actionable results to their GP. No referral needed, no weeks of waiting, no guesswork.

But launching a healthcare startup from scratch meant building everything. Lyndsey and Michelle needed a complete digital platform: branding and identity, a professional website, e-commerce integration for test purchases, an online booking system, SMS and email communications, a CRM to manage client relationships, and a financial dashboard to track the business from day one.
