3. How We Use Your Information
Personal data is used exclusively for disclosed purposes: account enquiries, service provision, payment processing, order fulfilment, contract obligations, website security maintenance, and soliciting feedback.
Marketing communications require explicit consent. For customer data uploads, Faretext acts as a Data Processor while users serve as Data Controllers, with responsibility for GDPR compliance resting on the user.
4. Retention of Data
Data retention extends as long as is necessary for the relevant service or per contractual terms. Inactive accounts (12+ months) result in user information deletion while message history persists for 24 months before permanent removal. Data is retained only as needed for legal obligations and dispute resolution.
5. Transfer of Data
Personal data storage occurs within the European Economic Area on ISO27001-accredited servers. Customer data transfers are encrypted and stored in the EEA. International transfers by GDPR-compliant service providers are protected under the EU-US Privacy Shield framework.
6. Disclosure of Data
Data may be disclosed during business transactions (mergers, acquisitions) with prior notice. Lawful disclosure occurs when required by law or valid public authority requests. Disclosure also happens when necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect rights or property, investigate wrongdoing, ensure user safety, or defend against legal liability.
7. Security of Data
While no transmission method is 100% secure, Faretext implements robust security measures after data receipt. Users bear responsibility for password confidentiality.
8. Your Rights
You may opt out of marketing communications through preference settings. Your rights include:

- Rectifying inaccuracies in your data
- Halting processing during objection resolution
- Requesting deletion of your data (with possible exceptions)

9. Service Providers
Faretext does not and will not sell personal data about our customers.
Third-party services include:
- Google Analytics - tracks website traffic; users can opt out via browser add-on
- Payment processors - Stripe and GoCardless handle payment information under PCI-DSS standards
- Additional providers - Microsoft OneDrive, Google services, OVH hosting, PayPal, OneSignal, MailChimp, Mailjet, ZoHo CRM, and Sage accounting
Third parties accessing data are contractually obligated against unauthorised disclosure or use.

This policy applies solely to Faretext websites. External links create no responsibility for third-party privacy practices.
11. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed toward individuals under 16. We take steps to remove Personal Data from children upon discovery.
12. Sensitive Personal Data
Faretext does not knowingly collect GDPR-defined sensitive data categories.

Updates are posted with prior notification and an updated effective date. Periodic review is recommended.
